Umer un-Nabi, whose identity as the bomber in the Delhi blast terror incident has been confirmed after his DNA matched with that of his mother’s, had visited Turkiye earlier this year for training, suggests probe that is gradually indicating at the alleged involvement of foreign players behind the terror act.

According to the ongoing probe, Umar reportedly visited Turkiye to seek arms training from his handlers allegedly linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), sources privy to the development said.

This, they said, indicated towards a new modus operandi where terrorists seemed to be moving to nations other than Pakistan to seek training from their handlers, who are reportedly setting up bases in different countries.

Another reason behind terrorists setting up bases in other nations was that following the Operation Sindoor offensive, their bases in Pakistan had been destroyed, thus forcing them to move out of both the country as well as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

However at the same time, terror perpetrators operating from a different country other than Pakistan was likely to put India’s diplomatic ties in an awkward position.

As reports of the alleged JeM handlers being based in Turkiye emerged, the Turkish embassy in New Delhi denied any involvement, saying that it “rejects all acts of terrorism”.

The embassy further said the claim that Turkiye engaged in “radicalisation activities” targeting India or any other country was purely “disinformative” and “lacks any factual basis”.
