Alleging the BJP could tamper with 10 per cent of votes, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday urged Delhi residents for a decisive lead beyond this margin.

He announced the launch of a dedicated website to track polling data, “If we want to defeat their EVM manipulation then every single vote of ‘jhaadu’ must be cast,” he said.

In a video message, he stated, “According to my sources, they (BJP) can manipulate up to 10 per cent of the votes through these machines. That’s why you need to vote in overwhelming numbers. If we manage a 15 per cent lead, we will win by 5 per cent. Give us a lead of over 10 per cent. Vote in such massive numbers that we overpower their machines. This is the only way to defeat their machine manipulation.”

Kejriwal said the party would upload crucial information on the website to prevent EVM tampering. The information that it will feature include — name or number of the polling booth, name of the presiding officer at that polling booth, control unit’s ID, total number of votes cast at that booth by the end of the day, battery percentage of the machine at the end of polling and name of the party polling agent. “If they try to manipulate results on counting day, we will have the data to cross-check,” he said.
