‘Genocide of Palestinians’: Priyanka Gandhi slams Israel after latest Gaza airstrike
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday praised Palestinians, saying they have endured “unimaginable suffering” while criticising Israel for the latest strike on the region that reportedly left over 400 Palestinians dead.
“The bravery of the Palestinian people prevails. They have endured unimaginable suffering yet their spirit remains resilient and unwavering,” the Congress leader said.
In the latest Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, over 400 people were reportedly killed on Tuesday. The latest escalation in the region shattered nearly two months of relative calm since a ceasefire began, as Israel warned the onslaught was “just the beginning.”
Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas have accused each other of breaching the truce. The truce since January had offered respite from war for the 2.3 million inhabitants of Gaza, which has been reduced to rubble, after Hamas’ audacious attacks inside Israel territory on October 7, 2023.
Reacting to the latest Israeli airstrike, Gandhi said, “The cold-blooded murder of over 400 innocent civilians, including 130 children, by the Israeli government, shows that humanity means nothing to them.”
She said Israel’s actions reflect an “inherent weakness and inability” to face their own truth.
Gandhi said that people with conscience, including many Israelis around the world, are recognising the genocide of Palestinians is happening.
“Whether western powers choose to recognise this or to acknowledge their collusion in the genocide of the Palestinian people or not, all citizens of the world who have a conscience (including many Israelis), see it,” she said.
Gandhi also called Israel “coward” for launching successive attacks on Palestinians.
“The more criminally the Israeli government acts, the more they reveal themselves for the cowards they truly are,” she added.
