A girl died, and 20 other students were injured on Monday as their school van overturned in Bihar's Nawada district, an official said.
The incident occurred on Kamalpur road in the Govindpur police station area of the district.
Talking to PTI, Govindpur SHO Vijay Kumar said, "At around 8 am, a school van overturned on Kamalpur road here. A girl, around 10 years old, died in the accident." Twenty students, all aged between 8 to 10 years, sustained minor injuries.
"All the students were taken to a local primary healthcare centre for treatment, but were later referred to a hospital in Nawada. Nineteen students were discharged later, while one is still undergoing treatment," Kumar said.
Further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, he added.
