Describing the interaction as “great”, Pichai said the discussions focused on how Google is supporting the Prime Minister’s vision of leveraging AI to drive inclusive growth.
He noted that the company’s initiatives aim to improve healthcare outcomes, expand access to information in Indian languages, strengthen the startup ecosystem and enhance productivity in sectors such as agriculture.
Pichai also thanked Modi for convening the summit, terming it an important platform to bring together governments, industry leaders and innovators to deliberate on the future of artificial intelligence.
Modi, in turn, described the meeting as “a delight” and said both of them discussed the work India is undertaking in the AI domain. He highlighted the country’s growing capabilities in emerging technologies and emphasised the role of India’s talented students and professionals in advancing innovation.
The Prime Minister also explored ways in which Google could deepen its collaboration with India’s academic institutions and technology workforce to further strengthen the AI ecosystem.
The interaction reflects the government’s broader push to position India as a global hub for artificial intelligence while ensuring that technological advancements translate into tangible benefits for citizens across sectors.
