Home Affairs Dialogue: India, UK identify pro-Khalistani extremism as key area of cooperation
India’s concerns over the breach of security of Indian dignitaries and diplomatic missions in the UK were also emphasised during the meeting
India and the United Kingdom on Friday identified pro-Khalistani extremists and the activities of anti-India groups in that country as areas of mutual interest and cooperation during the 6th Home Affairs Dialogue (HAD) held between both nations in the national capital.
India’s concerns over the breach of security of Indian dignitaries and diplomatic missions in the UK were also emphasised during the meeting.
The Indian delegation was led by Secretary (Border Management), Rajendra Kumar and the UK delegation was led by Second Permanent Secretary, Home Office, Simon Ridley.
Other areas identified for proactive cooperation included drug trafficking, migration, criminal justice and law enforcement cooperation as well as cyber security.
The meeting concluded with mutual satisfaction of both sides on the existing level of cooperation and agreement to strengthen the bilateral engagement by maintaining the momentum for enhanced security cooperation between the two countries.
