The government on Wednesday said in-flight connectivity was high on priority, with the Ministry of Telecom and Communications already finalising the related rules.

Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, speaking during the Question Hour, said the Civil Aviation Ministry is now supposed to frame relevant rules, after which all flight operators would need to fit airplanes with transponders.

Scindia was responding to a supplementary by DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran who said India which seeks to lead the world on 6 G does not yet have mobile connectivity in the skies.
