They added that the aircraft landed safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 6.40 am with 180 passengers on board. No suspicious object was found during subsequent checks, said the officials.

According to the airport authorities, the diversion was carried out as a precaution after a passenger discovered a handwritten note claiming that a bomb was present inside the aircraft. The information was immediately conveyed to the cockpit, following which the pilot alerted air traffic control and sought diversion clearance to Ahmedabad.

Upon landing, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Security agencies and airport staff conducted a thorough inspection of the plane in line with standard operating procedures. The officials confirmed that the aircraft was later cleared after all mandatory security checks were completed.

In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said flight 6E 1232, operating from Kuwait to Delhi on January 30, 2026, was diverted to Ahmedabad after a security threat was noticed on board. “The relevant authorities were immediately informed and all the mandated protocols were followed. The aircraft was cleared after all necessary checks and it departed shortly after,” the airline said.
