Pratik Joshi, formerly a doctor based out of Udaipur, had found a new job in London a while ago and was back home to take the family along.

But destiny had other plans with Joshi, his wife Kaumi Vyas, their twin sons Pradyut and Nakul and daughter Miraya, perishing in the Air India-171 Ahmedabad-London flight.

“The family had decided to relocate to London after Joshi got a job there,” Shikha Sharma, an Udaipur local, aware of the developments said. Kaumi and earlier her husband Pratik were both working for Pacific Medical College, Udaipur, and Kaumi, city locals said, had resigned a while ago to join her husband in London.

Among the deceased in the crash today were 10 Rajasthan residents, including the Joshi family.
