Noida girl issues apology for 'objectionable' remarks on PM Modi

A 15-year-old girl from Noida, who found herself in a controversy over her remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the CJP protest, has released a video apologising for her comments, saying she was influenced by others at the demonstration.

Her apology comes after a zero FIR was registered against her for making “objectionable” remarks against the PM.

The case stems from the protest held over the NEET paper leak on July 23. A complaint alleged that the girl had used abusive language against the PM during the demonstration. Based on the complaint, a zero FIR was registered on July 29 and has since been transferred to Delhi for further investigation.

In the video message, which surfaced on social media, the girl expressed regret over her remarks and appealed for forgiveness. She said, “During the protest, many people were abusing the Prime Minister. After coming under their influence I said a lot of things.”

“I am only 15 years old. This will be my first and the last mistake,” she added.

The development came as the controversy over her remarks continue to draw attention online.

Late night on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video on social media, referring to the incident, saying he had been abused by children at Jantar Mantar but described them as “gumrah” (misguided).

“Some naughty kids have choicest abuses. They used such words … let alone me, they roped in my late mother as well. But I must add, mistakes are made in childhood and it is during this time that you have the option to undo these mistakes. It is our job to guide such children,” Modi said, adding that he had forgiven them.
