‘Now, no need to even say Election Commission under BJP’: Kejriwal on poll body’s TMC post
Earlier, a meeting between a TMC delegation and the full bench of EC culminated on an acrimonious note, with TMC saying the panel’s chief asked them to 'get lost'
Reposting the Election Commission’s tweet on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that there is no need to even say that the poll body was working under BJP and taking direct instructions from it.
In a post on X, EC had said, “ECI’s Straight-talk to Trinamool Congress. This time, the Elections in West Bengal would surely be: Fear-free, Violence-free, Intimidation-free, Inducement-free and without any Chappa, Booth Jamming and Source Jamming.”
Kejriwal, responding to the post, said, “Now there is no need to even say that the Election Commission is working under BJP and taking direct instructions from BJP. This is now out in the open and extremely unfortunate,” Kejriwal said in a post on X in Hindi.
“At the very least, by tweeting in such language, don’t publicly tarnish the reputation of such an important institution,” he added.
Earlier, a meeting between a TMC delegation and the full bench of EC culminated on an acrimonious note, with TMC saying the panel’s chief asked them to “get lost” at the end of the seven-minute meeting, while EC accused them of “shouting”.
