Oil India clocks highest-ever daily oil and gas production
This milestone is backed by record drilling of 73 wells and 300 workovers, the highest on a year-on-year basis, says Petroleum Minister
Leading oil marketing firm Oil India has reported a landmark achievement for the national energy sector by clocking highest-ever daily oil and gas production of 1,47,159 BOE on Thursday.
"This milestone is backed by record drilling of 73 wells and 300 workovers, the highest on a year-on-year basis, during FY25–26 (till date). Notably, crude oil production of 80,060 barrels on the same day marks the highest daily output in the last 10 years," Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri said today.
He said these achievements reflect strong operational performance and OIL’s continued commitment towards strengthening India’s energy security.
The barrel of oil equivalent (BOE) is a unit of energy based on the approximate energy released by burning one barrel (42 US gallons, 35 imperial gallons or about 159 liters) of crude oil.
