Opposition MPs on Tuesday staged separate protests in the Parliament complex over a range of issues, including the alleged embezzlement of Ram Mandir donations, police action against students protesting the NEET paper leak in Delhi on July 20 and the Cauvery water dispute.

Congress MPs, led by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Manickam Tagore, along with RJD MP Manoj Jha, demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement in Parliament on the alleged use of force against students during the Jantar Mantar protest.

The protest came a day after Congress MPs submitted notices in both Houses seeking a discussion on the issue, while Tagore also moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha, demanding an explanation from the Home Minister.

In a separate demonstration, Samajwadi Party MPs targeted the BJP over the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case. Carrying a symbolic donation box, party president Akhilesh Yadav was seen dropping money into it as MPs raised slogans accusing the Uttar Pradesh Government of failing to act against those allegedly involved in the controversy.

Meanwhile, DMK MPs assembled at Makar Dwar to press for Tamil Nadu’s interests in the Cauvery water-sharing dispute. The party urged the Centre to intervene and ensure the state received its due share of Cauvery waters, asserting that the issue directly affected farmers and drinking water needs.
