PM Modi, German Chancellor Merz fly kites depicting Op Sindoor, Lord Hanuman, Tricolour in Ahmedabad
Modi and Merz will have a bilateral engagement in Ahmedabad later today
The visiting German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday partook in Indian kite flying traditions as he joined prime minister Narendra Modi in the International Kite Flying festival in Ahmadabad.
Photos from the event captured Modi tutoring Merz in the skills of kite flying.
The kites were symbolic of India’s rise across a spectrum as the country showcased its spiritual, military and national prowess with kites depicting Lord Hanuman, Operation Sindoor and the Tricolour filling the sky.
The BJP said the event was not just a diplomatic statement but the sign of a rising India which was unapologetic about its culture and traditions.

Modi and Merz will have a bilateral engagement in Ahmedabad later today.
This is Merz’s first visit to India.
