“Let's be honest. A lot of countries in the world today are nervous about the US. India is not one of them,” the minister said at the Aditya Birla 25th Silver Jubilee Scholarship Programme event in Mumbai.

Asked what the Trump presidency means for India, Jaishankar said “The Prime Minister was among the first three calls President Trump took. PM Modi has built rapport across multiple US Presidents. When he first came to DC, Barack Obama was the President, then it was President Trump and then President Biden...I know many countries are nervous about the US today, let’s be honest. We are not one of them.”

In their conversation, PM Modi and President Trump vowed to work for world peace.
