Speaking to the media in Davos, Switzerland, Himanta said, “Rahul doesn't want Priyanka in Kerala. I was in the Congress for 22 years and have some inside information. Rahul doesn't want the KC Venugopal axis disturbed and has, therefore, given a role to Priyanka in Assam. An MP from Kerala has not been assigned the role in Kerala. What else explains this?”
Priyanka was recently made the chief of the Assam Congress candidate screening panel.
Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, the senior observer of the Congress for the Assam polls, dismissed Himanta's remarks saying he's scared of Priyanka's active role in the Assam election.
Himanta said Gandhis’ is the “biggest flop family” in the world and that his family is better than theirs.
