India has consistently advocated peace and stability as tensions escalate in West Asia following reports of the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in strikes attributed to Israel and the United States.

In response, Iran reportedly launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting US assets and allied locations across the region, including Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. The developments have further intensified instability in the Middle East, raising concerns for civilians and expatriates.

Meanwhile, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that US forces conducted sustained operations targeting key Iranian military infrastructure, including facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). In a statement on X, CENTCOM said US forces had destroyed IRGC command and control facilities, air defence systems, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields.

Separately, Al Jazeera reported that Iran claimed responsibility for a “massive missile and drone” strike on a US air base in Bahrain. Iran’s IRGC said that 20 drones and three missiles struck the Sheikh Isa air base, allegedly damaging the main command building and setting fuel tanks ablaze.
