Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday met Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi and K C Venugopal amid a standoff in the lower House over former Army chief's M M Naravane's unpublished book.

Parliamentary sources said the meeting was held in a bid to arrive at a consensus on smooth functioning of the House.
