'Unacceptable': India condemns Fujairah attack, urges restraint after 3 nationals injured
MEA calls for dialogue and end to hostilities; stresses safety of civilians and navigation through Strait of Hormuz
India on Tuesday termed the attack on Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, which left three Indian nationals injured, as “unacceptable” and called for an “immediate end to hostilities”.
In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said India stood firmly for dialogue and diplomacy to address the escalating situation and urged all sides to exercise restraint to restore peace and stability across West Asia.
“The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, adding that targeting innocent civilians and civilian infrastructure must cease immediately.

The statement also underscored the importance of maintaining free and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law, amid rising tensions in the region.
“India stands ready to support all efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution,” it added.
The reaction from New Delhi came hours after a drone strike triggered a fire at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ) in the eastern UAE emirate. According to local authorities, emergency teams were swiftly deployed to contain the blaze.
Reports indicated that three Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries in the incident and were taken to hospital for treatment.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defence said multiple projectiles were launched towards the country, with most intercepted over territorial waters, while one fell into the sea.
