"The election results have been gracefully accepted by our party, and we feel that the people of Tamil Nadu have not given any mandate for the BJP to form the government. We sincerely respect the will and the mandate of the people of Tamil Nadu and do not wish to align our party in any attempt to form the new government in the state. Therefore, we do not wish any active participation in this process and will not vote for any party in the attempt to form the government," Nainar said.

Meanwhile, TVK, the single largest party, has been in touch with other small parties to garner support of ten MLAs as it has won 108 seats and is short of the 118 magic mark in the 234-member Assembly.

Left parties, VCK and IUML on which Vijay is banking, are still consulting on the issue with their leaders.

In the meantime, the Congress has abandoned its pre-poll partner DMK and its five MLAs have offered support to Vijay but that's not enough.

Governor Rajendra Arlekar has asked Vijay to convince him that TVK has the majority to form the government. Arlekar said that he doesn't want to call TVK to form government when he's not satisfied of its majority.
