Two militants killed in encounter with security forces in J-K’s Kulgam

Srinagar, July 4

Two militants were killed in an encounter in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, the police said.

They said a gunfight broke out between security forces and militants in Arrah area in the afternoon, after the forces launched a cordon-and-search operation following an input about militants’ presence.

“As the security forces approached the suspected area, the hiding militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Two militants have been killed so far,” a police officer said, adding that the operation is going on.
