J&K reported 1,081 new cases – 640 from Jammu division and 441 from Kashmir Valley – on Tuesday taking the coronavirus tally to 74,095, even as 18 deaths were reported in the UT in the last 24 hours.

Eleven people succumbed to virus in Jammu division, while seven patients died in Kashmir province.

Also, 1,250 patients – 615 from Jammu division and 635 from Kashmir – were discharged from various hospitals across the Union Territory on Tuesday after being cured of the infection.

According to the official bulletin issued on Tuesday evening, out of 74,095 cases, 17,414  are active positive, 55,517 have recovered and 1,164 – 331 in Jammu division and 833 in Kashmir province – have died.

The bulletin further said that out of 16,00,606 test results available, 15,26,511 samples have been tested as negative.

Till date, 5,73,200 persons have been enlisted for observation which include 14,281 persons in home quarantine (including facilities operated by government), 17,414 in isolation and 52,052 under home surveillance. Besides, 4,88,289 persons have completed their surveillance period, as per the official data.

According to the bulletin, of the total 74,095 positive cases in J&K, 8,747 have been reported as travelers while 65,348 as others.

It added that there are a total of 3,664 COVID dedicated beds, 3,384 isolation beds in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
