With 11 more deaths — two from Jammu and nine from Kashmir — during the last 24 hours, the Covid toll in J&K reached 509 on Thursday evening.

With 11 more deaths — two from Jammu and nine from Kashmir — during the last 24 hours, the Covid toll in J&K reached 509 on Thursday evening.

However, in a single-day highest 779 patients were cured and discharged from various hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir during the same period. With today’s recoveries, the number of cured patients has reached 19,302.

Out of the total 779 cured patients, 218 are from the Jammu division and 561 from the Kashmir valley. With these cured patients, the recovery rate in J&K has reached over 71 per cent. Out of the total 26,949 positive cases, 19,302 have been cured and discharged across the UT till Thursday evening. On the third successive day, numbers of recoveries were more than positive cases reported.

However, with 536 new positive cases — 98 from the Jammu division and 438 from the Kashmir province — the Covid count in the Union Territory reached 26,949.

According to the official bulletin issued on Thursday evening, out of 26,949 positive cases, 7,138 were active, 19,302 have recovered and 509 have died — 39 in the Jammu division and 470 in the Kashmir province.

According to the bulletin, of the total 26,949 positive cases in J&K, 5,318 cases have been reported as travellers, while 21,631 as others.
