Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 648 fresh Covid cases, while six patients suffering from the disease died in the past 24 hours, taking the virus tally to 86,057 and death toll to 1,358, officials said.

Out of the fresh 648 cases, 268 are from the Jammu division and 380 from the Kashmir valley, the officials said.

Srinagar district reported the highest number of 182 new cases, followed by 120 in Jammu district, the officials said.

There were 9,058 active Covid cases in the union territory, while 75,641 patients had recovered so far, they said.

Meanwhile, six deaths took place in the past 24 hours — two in the Jammu region and four in the Kashmir valley — taking the death toll to 1,358, the officials said.

Leh: Ladakh reported 66 new Covid cases, taking the infection tally to 5,304, according to an official bulletin on Thursday.

Fifty-six patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours — 36 patients in Leh and 20 in Kargil — the bulletin said.

According to the bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services, the number of active cases in the region stood at 979 on Thursday — 771 in Leh district and 208 in Kargil district.

Ladakh had recorded a total of 64 Covid-related deaths, while 4,205 patients have recovered from the disease till date. — PTI
