Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Wednesday that they found a civilian dead in an orchard in Shopian’s Pinjoora days after he was allegedly abducted by militants.

Police identified the civilian as Tariq Ahmed and claimed he was abducted after a recent encounter in Pinjoora.

Four militants were killed in an encounter in Pinjoora village on Monday. The development came a day after five militants were killed in another gunfight in Rebban village, also in Shopian.
