Ladakh Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra said he was “shocked” to learn of Stobdan’s sudden passing. “I had met him just a few days ago. A candid, forthright, and erudite diplomat, he carried immense wisdom. May God give strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” Kundra said.

Former Chief Executive Councillor of the Leh Hill Council, Tashi Gyalson, said Stobdan was admired for his exceptional intellect, deep insight, and commitment to public discourse. “He served the nation with distinction as India’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and was a leading voice on Himalayan geopolitics and strategic affairs,” he said.
