J&K Budget to be presented on February 6; Assembly session in two phases

The Assembly will reconvene on March 27 and continue till April 4.
The calendar, issued by Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, states that the annual financial statement of expenditure for 2026–27 will be presented on February 6. The supplementary statement of expenditure for 2025–26 will also be presented on the same day.
The Assembly will convene in the first week of February, with several sittings devoted to discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the Lieutenant Governor’s address. The debate on the Motion of Thanks is scheduled for February 3, 4 and 5.
Following the presentation of the Budget, a general discussion will be held on February 7, 9 and 10. February 8, being a Sunday, will be a holiday. The House will take up Demands for Grants from February 11 to 13 and again from February 16 to 19.
When the Assembly resumes after the Ramzan break, the Appropriation Bill will be laid on the table on March 27. Private Members’ Bills are scheduled for March 30 and April 1, while Private Members’ Resolutions will be taken up on March 31 and April 2.
