Srinagar, October 25

The Covid tally of Jammu and Kashmir rose to 91,861 on Sunday with 532 fresh cases, while the death toll climbed to 1,438 as eight more people succumbed to the disease, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 177 are in Jammu and 355 in the Kashmir Valley, they said.

Srinagar district reported the highest number of new cases at 124, followed by 113 in Jammu district, the officials said. There are 7,565 active cases, while 82,858 patients have recovered so far, they said. Out of the eight deaths recorded in the UT in the last 24 hours, three were reported from Jammu and five from Kashmir, they said. — PTI

3 more die in Ladakh, 73 cases

  • Ladakh recorded three more fatalities and 73 new cases, taking the death toll to 71 and infection tally to 5,913, officials said on Sunday.
  • All three deaths were reported from Leh during the past 24 hours, raising the toll in the district to 33, while rest of the 38 fatalities had taken place in Kargil district, they said.
  • Of the new cases, the officials said 65 persons tested positive in Leh and eight others in Kargil.
