J&K Police attach drug peddler's property worth Rs 4 crore

Police have attached property worth Rs 4 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Budgam district under the provisions of the NDPS Act, an official said on Monday.

"Srinagar Police has attached an immovable property in Budgam, worth approximately Rs 4 crore, belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985," a police spokesperson said.

He said Police Station Khanyar attached the property of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Ichgam in Budgam, in connection with a case registered under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act.

He said the attached property comprises a two-storeyed residential house with an attic structure and 31,800 square feet of land situated at Ichgam, Budgam.

The spokesperson said the property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS after authorities identified it as an illegally acquired asset, allegedly derived from narcotic drug trafficking proceeds. PTI
