Jawan, civilian die as militants attack CRPF party in J-K’s Sopore

Srinagar, July 1

One  Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man and a civilian were killed in a militant attack in north Kashmir’s Sopore sub-district on Wednesday morning, officials said.

While three CRPF men have been injured in the attack.

They said militants attacked a CRPF and police party at around 7.45 am while they placing a naka at Model town Sopore, some 50 kms from Srinagar.

 “Four CRPF personnel and civilian got injured in this firing. All injured were evacuated to hospital,” a CRPF officer said.

Soon after the attack, joint forces rushed to the area and cordoned the locality to trace the attackers.

In April, three CRPF men were killed in an attack in the Sopore
