Days ahead of the third and final phase of the Assembly elections in which 24 constituencies of the Jammu division will go to the polls, Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda said the National Conference (NC) and the Congress ignored Jammu for decades. It was the only BJP that gave justice to the region.

Nadda was addressing a press conference a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega rally in Jammu for the final phase of the Assembly polls on October 1.

“The NC and the Congress have no relation with Jammu. They have never been serious about it and have deceived the people of the region. The BJP has always been concerned about Jammu and brought development here,” said Nadda.

Nadda said the youth of the Valley rejected bullets and chose ballot. “The first two phases of the Assembly elections are a reflection of how people of J&K have reposed their trust in PM Modi. This is clear that they have given support to the BJP. The polling in the first two phases was held in a peaceful manner. There was no violence, booth capturing or terror attack,” Nadda said.

Stressing on the stability and development in the region, Nadda said UT people were now fed up with the dynastic parties and want the BJP to form the government that could fulfill their aspirations.

Wooing the voters of Jammu, Nadda said: “Jammu is on way to become an educational hub with so many premier institutions”.

Referring to the visit of the heads of missions from different countries to oversee the Assembly elections, Nadda said: “Heads of missions from 16 countries visited Kashmir to observe the elections. They saw the control over law and order and how people have increasingly participated in the polls.”

He said hundreds of youth were now rejecting the armed insurgency and joining the mainstream. “However, opposition parties, including the NC, Congress and the PDP, are supporting elements that are working against the country,” said the BJP chief.
