Pak violates ceasefire in Poonch



Rajouri, February 22

The Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing and shelling with mortars twice in the Shahpur, Kirni, Qasba and Degwar sectors in Poonch district on Saturday.

Sources said the first violation of ceasefire by the Pakistan army was reported between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm in the Qasba, Shahpur and Kirni sectors.

The second violation was reported from the Qasba and Degwar sectors at about 5 pm and was continuing till the filing of the report.

“The Pakistan army used long-range mortars to hit Indian Army’s forward locations and civil areas. Tension gripped the entire area in apprehension of loss to lives and property,” said a local.
