People in PoK facing atrocities at hands of Pak: BJP

While strongly condemning human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the BJP has alleged that Pakistan is on the verge of collapse.

Addressing a joint press conference at the BJP headquarters in Jammu on Thursday, party spokespersons Ankur Sharma, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and Vikram Malhotra condemned the Pakistani state and its army for committing atrocities and human rights violations against peaceful protesters demanding civil rights in PoK.

Sharma described Pakistan as a totalitarian state that is on the verge of collapse. He asserted that Pakistan’s foundation as a theocratic state is a “failed idea”—a reality first exposed by the creation of Bangladesh in 1971. He claimed that this ideological failure would eventually reach its logical conclusion with the secession of at least three more of its provinces.

Zorawar Singh Jamwal highlighted that since mid-2026, people in PoK are facing atrocities and killings at the hands of the Pakistani state. He appealed to the international community to flag the “genocidal” nature of Pakistani state while simultaneously calling for prompt, thorough and impartial investigations into all the killings and forced disappearances through an independent body comprising members of the international community.
