Political parties congratulate J&K team on maiden Ranji Trophy win

With the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team lifting their maiden Ranji Trophy title on Saturday, political parties across the Union Territory extended congratulations, describing the victory as a historic moment.
The ruling Jammu & Kashmir National Conference termed it a “historic glory” for the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team in the Ranji Trophy.
“You have made every Jammu & Kashmiri proud with your grit and brilliance. This victory is a testament to talent, resilience, and fearless spirit,” the party said, adding, “From our valleys and alleys to the nation — your triumph echoes everywhere.”

Mehbooba Mufti, president of the Peoples Democratic Party, said the “stupendous success of Jammu & Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy has given the people a rare moment of joy after a long time.”
“This victory is also a powerful reply to those forces that seek to divide our society on religious lines. The triumph was made possible by the united effort of a team comprising both Hindu and Muslim players, proving once again that unity is our greatest strength,” she said.
She added, “Together we rise, together we succeed, and today’s win is a reminder to the world that the spirit of J&K can never be broken.”
President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference and Handwara MLA, Sajad Lone, also congratulated the team “on their historic rise as national champions by securing the maiden Ranji Trophy.” “This triumph is the culmination of years of perseverance, discipline, and belief. The team has showcased the extraordinary talent and resolve that define Jammu and Kashmir. It has been a long wait, and today that wait has transformed into a moment of immense pride for us all,” Lone said.
Chief spokesperson of the Awami Ittehad Party, Inam Un Nabi, said the remarkable victory reflects the talent, determination, and resilience of J&K’s young cricketers, who have brought immense pride and joy to people across the Union Territory.
“This historic achievement has shown that, given opportunity and support, the youth of Jammu & Kashmir can excel at the highest level,” he said.
Nabi added that the Ranji Trophy victory should serve as a turning point for sports development in J&K.
Spokesperson of the BJP J&K unit, Manzoor Bhat, said, “This victory is not just a win on the field, but a triumph of determination and belief.”
“You have shown that with commitment and unity, Jammu & Kashmir can shine on the national stage,” he added.
