Jammu/Srinagar, May 31

Almost all senior officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Government engaged in the fight against Covid-19 have been quarantined. The move came after a principal secretary-level IAS officer tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday evening.

The IAS officer, who came back from Srinagar on Saturday, had attended a high-level meeting in Jammu in which almost all top bureaucrats of the UT were present, sources said.

The meeting was convened to discuss Covid-19 situation in the UT. A divisional commissioner, heads of health and medical education departments, principal of GMC-Jammu, directors of National Health Mission, health services, medical supplies corporation, microbiologist and epidemiologist were among those who attended the meeting.
