Shah to meet senior BJP leaders today
Amid growing resentment among BJP leaders and workers over ticket allocation, Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu on Friday where he will address a public meeting and also meet senior party leaders.
Shah and senior party leaders from J&K will review political activities in the UT. RSS leaders, including Ram Madhav, will also be present during the meeting in which discussions over recent protests by party leaders over ticket allocation are likely.
Shah will also address a rally at Manhas Ground, Palaura, where preparations are going on in a full swing. Coal Minister G Kishen Reddy, who is also the election in-charge for J&K, visited the area on Thursday to prepare for the rally. Shah will discuss campaign strategy for party candidates with senior leaders.
The BJP has been rattled by protests of workers from Chhamb, Reasi and Jammu East. Some of them have submitted resignations while the allocation of tickets for some seats in Jammu and Udhampur is awaited.
