Six more Covid-19 patients have recovered in Ladakh as their samples have tested negative. The second sample result of the patients was received on Friday night from the National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi.
The number of cured patients in Ladakh now is nine. Three of them had recovered earlier this week and will soon complete their 14-day quarantine period at government quarantine centres.
Commissioner Secretary, Health, Ladakh, Rigzin Samphel confirmed the reports on Twitter and lauded the frontline workforce for working day and night to combat Covid-19.
The Union Territory of Ladakh had recorded 14 coronavirus cases — 11 from Leh and three from Kargil. Now there are five positive cases in the UT — three in Leh and two in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Lt-Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur chaired a meeting, which was attended by his Adviser Umang Narula, Inspector General of Police, Ladakh, SS Khandre, Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas and joined by Rigzin Samphel through videoconferencing from Kargil.
The Lt-Governor appreciated the people of Ladakh for exhibiting resolve and cooperation in observing the lockdown. He said the collaborative efforts of the health department, volunteers and religious and social organisations would help Ladakh win the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Taking a serious note of the recent report of a positive case in Sanjak village in Kargil, the Lt-Governor stressed intensifying the efforts and precautionary measures to contain the outbreak of Covid-19.
