The Jammu Division of Indian Railways on Saturday announced the introduction of a special reserved train service between Jammu and Chhapra to improve passenger convenience.
According to an official statement, the train (No. 05193/05194) will operate 15 trips in each direction. Train No. 05194 will run from April 8 to July 15, departing Jammu Tawi every Wednesday at 01:20 hrs and reaching Chhapra the next day at 09:15 hrs.
Train No. 05193 will run from April 6 to July 13, departing Chhapra every Monday at 14:12 hrs and arriving in Jammu on Tuesday at 23:00 hrs.
The special train will halt at several stations in both directions, including Kathua, Pathankot Cantt., Jalandhar Cantt., Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt., Yamunanagar Jagadhri, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Laksar, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Padrauna, Thawe, Dighwa Dubauli, and Chhapra Kacheri.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the service has been introduced in view of heavy passenger demand.
“This train will provide direct and comfortable connectivity for passengers travelling between Jammu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Passengers are advised to book tickets in advance through IRCTC or railway counters to avoid inconvenience,” he said.
