As per a police spokesperson on Monday, the attached property comprises a residential house along with six marlas of land situated at Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh. The asset is registered in the name of Mohammad Irfan Sheikh, son of Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh, against whom an FIR has been registered at the Sangam police station.

He said during investigation, it was established that the said property had been raised using illicit proceeds generated through the narcotics trade. Following these findings, the competent authority issued an attachment order under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

The spokesperson said the attachment was executed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, strictly adhering to all legal formalities. As per the order, the owner is restrained from selling, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the said property, he said.

“Srinagar Police remains firmly committed to zero tolerance against narcotics, and will continue to identify, pursue and legally dismantle networks and assets linked to the drug trade,” the spokesperson said.
