Two nabbed for operating drone in ‘no-fly’ zone

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said it has achieved a major breakthrough in a sensitive security case involving the violation of No-Flying Zone restrictions during this year’s Amarnath Yatra.

According to a statement issued by Ganderbal Police, a drone that was illegally flown over the notified restricted area was brought down by security forces using soft-kill measures, preventing any potential threat to the annual pilgrimage.

As per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, the entire Yatra corridor had been declared a strict No-Flying Zone to ensure foolproof security and the peaceful conduct of the Yatra.

A case was registered at the Gund Police Station.
