According to a statement issued by Ganderbal Police, a drone that was illegally flown over the notified restricted area was brought down by security forces using soft-kill measures, preventing any potential threat to the annual pilgrimage.

As per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, the entire Yatra corridor had been declared a strict No-Flying Zone to ensure foolproof security and the peaceful conduct of the Yatra.

A case was registered at the Gund Police Station.
