University of Ladakh conducts training course for armed forces officers

University of Ladakh (UoL) conducted a special course on the history, geography and culture of Ladakh for officers of the Army, Indian Air Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) from May 11 to 16.

Maj Gen Sudhanshu Sharma, Chief of Staff, Fire and Fury Corps, and Prof Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor, UoL, addressed the participants and distributed certificates on successful completion of the course.

According to an official statement, certificates were also awarded to Army personnel who completed courses on Solid Waste Management and Chinese language conducted by the university, along with a Cyber Security course organised by Rashtriya Raksha University during January–March 2026.

The statement said the continued partnership between the university and Fire and Fury Corps was strengthening national security through academic collaboration, capacity building and military-civil fusion.
