Vehicular movement disrupted on Doda-Kishtwar road, advisory issued

Vehicular movement on the Doda–Kishtwar road was disrupted on Saturday after a major landslide near Gatsoo, close to Pul Doda, blocked the route, prompting authorities to issue a traffic advisory.

Officials said the landslide occurred early in the morning, completely obstructing the key road connecting Doda and Kishtwar districts.

According to an update by Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police on X, clearance operations are underway, but it may take time to restore traffic.

“The Doda–Kishtwar road is blocked due to a major landslide at Gatsoo near Pul Doda. Men and machinery are on the job; however, it will take some time to clear. Commuters are advised to avoid travel on this route until it is fully restored,” the advisory stated.

Authorities have deployed teams and heavy machinery to remove debris and restore connectivity at the earliest.

Visuals from the site show workers clearing boulders from the road. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
