Weapon cache, supplies recovered along LoC day after troops foiled infiltration bid in Rajouri

The Army on Friday recovered arms and ammunition from the site where an infiltration bid was foiled along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri on Thursday.

The Army recovered an AK-47 rifle, two magazines along with ration and clothing. Blood stains were also witnessed at the site suggesting that the terrorists trying to infiltrate were also injured.

An Army spokesperson said, “Further to infiltration bid foiled in early hours of February 19 at Nathua Tibba, Sundarbani along the LoC, troops of Crossed Swords Division under White Knight Corps conducted a comprehensive search of the area. Heavily blood-stained tracks were observed, indicating serious injuries to the terrorist(s)”.

The spokesperson said that during the search, war-like stores were recovered including one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, three rucksacks, blankets, rations and clothing. “Operations remain ongoing with heightened vigilance and firm domination of the area,” he said.

The Army had launched an operation based on intelligence on Thursday in Sunderbani sector along the LoC. A suspicious movement of ultras was detected close to the fence after which the soldiers opened fire foiling the infiltration bid.
