Woman among five arrested for ‘drug peddling’

Jammu, May 2

Five alleged drug peddlers were arrested on Sunday after they were found possessing 30-gram heroin in Udhampur, the police said.

Sohan Singh and Anil Verma were arrested along with 12-gram heroin by a police party during patrolling in Housing Colony. A police spokesman said, "On their disclosure, three more persons – Vikas Thakur, Rohit Sharma and Shaheena Shah – were arrested from Subash Nagar and 18-gm heroin and some insulin syringes were seized from them."

He said the arrested persons were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and further investigation was in progress. — PTI
