1 electrocuted, seven injured

JALANDHAR: A man died while seven others were injured after being electrocuted in Maqsuda here on Sunday.

A man died while seven others were injured after being electrocuted in Maqsuda here on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Balbir Chand (58). The injured are said to be out of danger.

According to information, residents of Wariana village and the victim were installing a religious symbol in a temple when they came in contact with high-voltage wires.

Five victims have been admitted to a private hospital while two to the Civil Hospital. One of the injured said the voltage was so high that they did not know what happened.

The police said the incident took place between 8 and 8.30 am on Sunday.
