State committee of the 108 ambulance drivers in the state decided that the ambulance service shall remain suspended in the state on July 11.
The 108 ambulance service shall remain suspended for 12 hours on Wednesday across Punjab.
Ambulance drivers had said if their demands aren't met by July 10 then they shall observe a 12-hour state level strike on July 11.
Union members said if their demands are still not addressed they might declare an indefinite strike of the services at any point in the state. The primary demands of the union include-duty hours be reduced from 12 hours to eight hours, pending increments and interest for past four years be released, equal work equal pay provision be implemented, EMT should be re-designated as EMTs rather than the post of ambulance managers which they are currently deputed as.—TNS
