A rare and grand 1,101 Kundiya Rudra Mahayajna was organised from February 19 to 25 with the sacred sankalp of sarv kalyan (welfare of humanity), world peace and protection of the environment. The spiritual event was conceptualised and organised by Swami Udaigiri Ji Maharaj, spiritual head and president of Shri Sidheshwar Shiv Mandir Charitable Trust at Bassi Gulam Hussain in Hoshiarpur.

Before this, a similar Rudra Koti Mahayajna was held in 1925 at Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Teerthkshetra, making the present event a rare spiritual occasion after many decades.

The main attraction of the yajna was that a minimum of 1,101 yajmans (participants) offered ahuti (holy offerings) simultaneously every day from 9 am to 12 noon at the yagyashala, creating a unique and divine atmosphere. Learned scholars recited vedic mantras from the main havan kund, while priests guided the yajmans in performing the rituals properly. The collective prayers were dedicated to the wellbeing of all humanity.

Dr Harshvinder Pathania served as the mukhya yajman at the main havan kund for all seven days. The yajna concluded with the sacred purnahuti (final offering) on February 25.

Swami Vishwanand ji Maharaj, spiritual head of Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Teerthkshetra, said that the tradition of yajna has existed since Vedic times. He shared that during the eras of the Ramayan and Mahabharata, devotees achieved both spiritual and worldly goals through yajnas performed with faith and devotion.

Many saints and religious leaders, including Baba Ranjit Singh ji and Saadhvi Bhuvneshwari Devi ji, along with hundreds of saints and mahatmas from distant places such as Tamil Nadu, participated in the holy ceremony and offered ahutis.

Prominent social, religious and political leaders also supported the event. Among them were Brahm Shankar Jimpa, MLA, and Avinash Ray Khanna, former Member of Parliament. Their cooperation and the collective efforts of devotees ensured the grand success of this rare spiritual gathering, which left a deep spiritual impact on all who attended.
