23 NRIs reach Hoshiarpur from Dubai

Hoshiarpur: With the beginning of arrival of NRIs from abroad under the Vande Bharat Mission of the Central Government, NRIs belonging to the district have also started returning to their homes. As many as 23 NRIs of the district, who had reached the Amritsar airport from Dubai, reached here late Wednesday night. These 23 persons have been quarantined for 14 days at a Covid care centre on the Rayat-Bahra institute campus on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road. While they are being screened by the team of the Health Department, necessary facilities are also being provided to them by the administration. Besides good food, cleanliness is also being ensured. Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said more people hailing from the district and at present living abroad would be coming to the district in the days to come and they would be quarantined on their arrival. Riyait said 374 persons had been registered to go to Uttarakhand and interested people would be sent to Haridwar (Uttarakhand) tonight through buses. On May 15, more people would be sent to Jharkhand. Afterwards, people from Rajasthan would be sent.
