About two dozen organisations of farmers, workers and labourers staged a protest in front of the DC office, Jalandhar, today, demanding the withdrawal of the VB G Ram G Act, repeal of all four labour codes, repeal of the Electricity Amendment Bill and Seed Amendment Bill and the cancellation of all 'anti-people' privatisation decisions taken by the Centre and Punjab Government.

A memorandum was also submitted to the governments through the DC. Addressing the gathering of people, farm leaders and other speakers said the Centre is making new laws to loot the country's natural resources.

They said this development model being presented by the government was helping corporate houses.

Leaders said the model has taken away employment from landless people, closed the doors of jobs for the educated youth and is preparing to take away the lands of small and medium farmers. They said the Punjab Government is also following in the footsteps of the Centre.

Leaders, accusing the Bhagwant Mann government, said during the last three-and-a-half years, the government has adopted a policy of crushing the struggles of labourers, farmers, employees and unemployed youth organisations.
